Colorado native, Clare Dunn, is on the verge of becoming the next hottest act in Nashville, and she hasn’t even released her debut album.
With an inconspicuous name and only two singles released, it might be easy to overlook Clare Dunn. However, the 27 year old has people listening, and people like what they hear. Behind her Fender Telecaster and cheeky, clever country lyrics, she puts on a show that gets the crowd up and dancing. Although she isn’t related to famous singer Ronnie Dunn, Clare has opened for country royalty including Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, Dierks Bentley, and Luke Bryan. She also opened for one of her heroes and biggest influences, Bob Seger last November.
Her emerging career includes many highlights, but Clare is still a down-to-earth country girl. Growing up on a farm in southeast Colorado gave Clare a humbleness and work ethic from years of working cattle and driving combines. She worked her way through a degree at Belmont University in Nashville by driving an 18-wheeler during breaks. That work ethic carried over to her relentless touring schedule and lyrics, which includes many personal stories and experiences. Her latest single, “Cowboy Side of You,” is a fiery example of her story telling ability.
Clare’s work ethic has made her one of the most sought after songwriters in the industry. She has already written songs with esteemed songwriters Hillary Lindsey, David Hodges, Troy Verges, and more. However, the future might bring her into the spotlight of the stage. Some industry experts suggest Clare Dunn may be the next female to reach the pinnacle of country music, to meet up with the likes of Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert. While it may be too early for such comparisons, Clare appeared on Music Row’s 2015 Next Big Thing artists list along with Chase Bryant, Maddie & Tae, and Sam Hunt. 2015 will see Clare play a number of festival shows, including a headlining performance at the Faster Horses Music Festival in Brooklyn, MI.
The talented singer, songwriter, and guitar player recently signed with Universal Music Group Nashville. Her debut album is scheduled to release through UMGN later this year. Give her first single, “Get Out,” a listen. If you like her as much as we do, then try to get out to one of her shows!
