The Eli Young Band came to Grand Rapids, MI on Friday night to turn it on.

The crowds were lined up outside The Intersection, patiently waiting for the doors to open so they could race to the front of the stage for the night’s performance by The Eli Young Band. This night was one of those nights fans had marked on their calendar ever since the show was announced months ago.

The evening started off with a short set by Steve Rivers. Steve, who recently moved to Nashville from the local area, returned home with his band to take the stage for this evening. An up and coming singer songwriter, turning heads and gaining attention in the country music scene, played original songs from his latest album Temptations along with covers such as “Drunk On A Plane,” and “Springsteen.”

With multi-colored laser lights and heavy strobes bouncing off the walls and ceiling, it was time for the Eli Young Band to take the stage. The show kicked off with “Drink You Up,” from their latest EP, Turn It On, which was released back in March of 2015 on Republic Records. Along with the show opening song, the band played the other three songs off the EP, that included the hit title track, “Turn It On.” The 90-minute, 15-song set list added included top hit songs from their past 5 albums, also including 3 number one’s “Crazy Girl,” “Even If It Breaks Your Heart,” and “Drunk Last Night.”

The show ended with the Eli Young Band playing the only cover of the evening, “The Thunder Rolls” by Garth Brooks.
