Tim McGraw will be starring in a new crime drama show on TNT.

The new series entitled, Robbers, is based on Christopher Cook’s debut novel from 2000. Tim McGraw will be an executive producer of the show, along with Sarah Timberman, and Carl Beverly. McGraw will star as Ray Bob, which is one of the two stars carrying out a Texas crime spree. The series also has a storyline of a complicated love triangle between a girl and a police officer.

McGraw is a veteran film actor. His well-respected acting career includes big titles such as Friday Night Lights and The Blind Side. Although McGraw has been pursued by TNT to star in other shows, this is the first time he has agreed to pursue a series. Once McGraw’s name became attached to the series, the show was green-lighted.

Although McGraw may be taking off with his acting career, he hasn’t forgotten his musical roots. He will be performing at the Taste of Country Music hosted June 12-14 in Hunter, New York, on Hunter Mountain. He will also be performing at the Country Jam in Grand Junction, CO, which will be June 18-21.
